“Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.” ― Allen Saunders

Nathan Huang is a junior at Hall High School in West Hartford, CT, where he has made a significant impact through his involvement with HOSA. He discovered the organization during his freshman year. He connected with Connecticut State Advisor Susan Troupe, which inspired him to be Founder and serve as President of Hall High School’s HOSA Chapter in the spring of that year. Nathan was also recommended as one of only 10 students nationwide to participate in HOSA’s cohort in CADCA. Through this experience, Nathan has learned all about the intricacies and nuances of the opioid epidemic plaguing the US.

As a Connecticut Delegate at the International Leadership Conference 2023, Nathan earned the HOSA Outstanding State Leader award and has participated in two Washington Leadership Conferences (2023, 2024). He played a key role in helping lead the Connecticut Fall Conference in 2023 and the Connecticut Spring Conference in 2024.

Passionate about healthcare advocacy, Nathan has met with Senator Murphy’s office representative to discuss HOSA initiatives, healthcare education, and support for the Perkins Law. In winter 2024, Nathan will volunteer as an EMT and continue his volunteer work at Hartford Hospital. Outside of HOSA, he enjoys exploring his culinary skills in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes, and playing volleyball, basketball, and video games.
