When Manas first discovered that his school did not have a HOSA chapter, he sensed an opportunity to start something amazing at Rocky Hill High. As part of the class of 2026, Manas took the initiative to found HOSA towards the end of his sophomore year, hoping to bring the opportunity to his fellow students to help them explore their passion for healthcare. The process of starting HOSA has caused growth in Manas, allowing him to explore the challenges and merits of being a leader within his school environment. After garnering significant support within his school, Manas was able to foster a welcoming and encouraging environment for all to explore their interests in healthcare. Through his journey as a HOSA chapter founder, Manas overcame various obstacles and celebrated many victories, learning what it really means to be a leader. Now, Manas enjoys being able to carry big responsibilities and collaborating with a wonderful team, leading him to pursue a leadership role at the state level for HOSA.

Now a third-year HOSA member and CT HOSA President-Elect, Manas aims to expand and strengthen the organization while staying true to the mission that inspired him to start it. He is focused on increasing engagement beyond competition, building stronger connections between chapters, and creating opportunities for students to explore diverse pathways in healthcare. Through his leadership, he hopes to ensure that HOSA remains both a competitive and collaborative community that empowers students across Connecticut.

In the future, Manas plans to continue his journey at the University of Connecticut Special Program in Medicine (BS/MD), where he will pursue his goal of becoming a physician while also exploring public health. He aspires to drive equitable healthcare by addressing disparities and ensuring access to quality treatment for all communities. As a student representative on the CIAC Student Equity Advisory Board, he has already begun advocating for more inclusive systems and plans to carry this mission forward.

In his free time, Manas can be found practicing Karate as a first-degree black belt, playing tennis for Rocky Hill High School, or spending time with friends. He also enjoys listening to music, working out, and reading to relax.
