“It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do” – Jane Austen
HOSA revolutionized Ananya, strengthening her resolve to pursue dreams in a challenging yet inspiring community. Ananya first joined HOSA as a freshman in high school, hoping to explore the extensive fields of healthcare. She was instantly encapsulated by the support and inspiration of her peers and advisors. Due to the complacent and encouraging environment created by her chapter’s community, she wanted to give the same comfort back to her community by dedicating her time and commitment to joining the leadership team. However, Ananya’s ambitions did not stop there. Upon communicating with the state advisor and learning more about CT HOSA, she wondered how it must have felt to carry big responsibilities and collaborate with a meaningful team. Now, Ananya knows the feeling all too well as she has had the opportunity of serving alongside intelligent people at the local and state levels.
Ananya is now a senior and aspiring medical scholar at Farmington High School (FHS). Throughout her journey of leading the HOSA at FHS, Ananya has had the privilege of working with students from different backgrounds and who have different aspirations, connecting with individuals from other HOSA chapters, and networking with healthcare professionals. Ananya feels endless gratitude to her FHS Chapter’s community that has fostered an ambitious and uplifting atmosphere and is beyond thankful to give back to this community as CT HOSA Association President.
Currently, Ananya is applying to college and hopes to major in Biochemistry or Chemistry in the future, on the pre-med track as it brings her one step closer to her goal of becoming a doctor. Outside of HOSA, Ananya serves as an officer in her school’s Indian Student Union, a student organization that advocates and elevates voices of the South Asian community. Ananya hopes to apply her passion for social justice advocacy and affinity for healthcare in HOSA to promote inclusivity and uplift minority groups. In her free time, Ananya can be found taking pictures on her digital camera or reading to escape reality.
